Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds – Open Network Test Begins August 29
SEGA is inviting players to join the Open Network Test (ONT) for Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds, running from 12:00 PM on August 29 to 12:00 PM on September 2, 2025 (UTC+8). This test is available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, Steam, and the Epic Games Store. No subscriptions like PlayStation Plus or Nintendo Switch Online are required to participate.
What’s New in the ONT
Compared to the Closed Network Test, the ONT offers:
- Expanded Playable Content: 16 tracks (9 main and 7 CrossWorlds), 42 gadgets, and a larger roster of characters.
- Playable Modes:
- Offline: Grand Prix and Time Trial.
- Online:
- World Match: Race against up to 11 players online to earn Rank Points and climb the leaderboards.
- Joker Festival: A limited-time event featuring Joker from Persona 5 Royal and his vehicle, the Arsène Wing. This event runs from 12:00 PM on August 31 to 12:00 PM on September 1 (UTC+8).
- World Match: Race against up to 11 players online to earn Rank Points and climb the leaderboards.
- Offline: Grand Prix and Time Trial.
Participation Rewards
By joining the ONT, players can earn:
- Exclusive Decals: Customizable vehicle decorations.
- “Open Network Test Racer” Title: Display this title in the full game.
Please note that items and Festival Points earned during the ONT won’t transfer to the full release on September 25, 2025.
How to Join
No registration is required. Simply download the test version from your platform’s store (PlayStation Store, Microsoft Store, Nintendo eShop, Steam, or Epic Games Store) and start racing. An internet connection is required to participate.

Important Notes
- No Save Data Carryover: Progress from the ONT will not transfer to the full game.
- Regional Restrictions: The ONT is unavailable in regions like Venezuela, Cuba, Russia, and parts of Africa and Asia.
