Samsung Reintroduces Exynos with Galaxy S26 Series

Samsung is set to bring back its in-house Exynos processors in the upcoming Galaxy S26 series, marking a notable shift from its previous Snapdragon-exclusive approach.

Exynos 2600: The New Flagship Chip

The Exynos 2600 is Samsung’s latest 2nm chipset, featuring a 10-core CPU with a combination of high-performance and efficiency cores. It also includes the new Xclipse 960 GPU, based on AMD’s RDNA architecture. Early benchmarks indicate impressive performance, with strong single-core and multi-core results.

Regional Chip Allocation

Samsung plans to equip the base Galaxy S26 and S26 Edge models in regions like Asia, Europe, and Africa with the Exynos 2600. Meanwhile, the S26 Ultra will retain the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 2, ensuring premium performance for its flagship variant.

Anticipated Launch

The Galaxy S26 series is expected to launch in early 2026, with the base and Edge models featuring Exynos 2600, and the Ultra variant maintaining the Snapdragon chipset.

Final Thought

Reintroducing Exynos represents Samsung’s strategic move to strengthen its semiconductor independence and enhance overall device performance. By balancing in-house and external chipsets, Samsung is positioning the Galaxy S26 series to deliver optimized performance across global markets.
