Resident Evil 4 Unlockables on Nintendo Switch: Weapons, Modes, and Costumes
Unlocking additional content in Resident Evil 4 on Nintendo Switch enhances the gameplay experience with new challenges, characters, and customization options. After completing the main game, players gain access to special modes such as Separate Ways, which follows Ada Wong’s perspective during key events, Assignment Ada, a mission to retrieve a sample of the Plaga parasite, and The Mercenaries, a time-based mode where players defeat as many enemies as possible. Completing these modes unlocks additional characters like Ada, Krauser, HUNK, and Wesker, each with unique weapons and abilities.
Several powerful weapons can be unlocked through gameplay milestones. The Chicago Typewriter, an infinite-ammo submachine gun, becomes available after completing Separate Ways. Matilda, a handgun capable of firing three rounds quickly, and the Infinite Rocket Launcher are unlocked after finishing the main game. The Handcannon, a magnum revolver with high damage, is unlocked by achieving five-star ratings in all Mercenaries missions.
Players can also unlock various costumes and accessories to customize their characters. Leon’s costumes include Jacket, Shirt, and Pinstripe, while Ashley can wear Jacket, Jacketless, and Suit of Armor. Accessories include Gas Mask, Wolf Tail, Deer Antlers, Chicken Hat, Cat Ears, and more.
Completing the game also unlocks extra features, including Professional Mode with tougher enemies and limited resources, a Movie Browser to rewatch cutscenes, and Ada’s Report, a series of five video reports unlocked through Separate Ways chapters.

Unlocking in-game skins
Special Option 1: Leon’s outfit will be an R.P.D. police uniform, while Ashley’s outfit will be a floating waistcoat and white trousers. Ada will also appear in a red miniskirt like the Resident Evil 2 game. Players can unlock it by completing the game at least once.
Special 2 Adjustment Options: Leon’s outfit will be the R.P.D. mafia outfit, while the Ashley outfit will be a piece of armor that will protect itself from almost all damage. In addition, if the Chicago Typewriter reloads ammo, it will also have a special animation. Players can unlock it by completing the game in Separate Ways mode.
The Mercenaries Skin
Players can also choose to adjust Leon and Ada’s skins as they appear in-game for The Mercenaries mode, with no changes to their default stats or weapon sets. For PC consoles using Xbox game joys, Play can use the same commands as Xbox One.
