The developers have announced a special, free “Server Slam” playtest on the Steam platform, scheduled for December 17–18, 2025. This test is a critical step in preparing for the Early Access launch slated for early 2026.

How to Participate (Free to Play via Steam):

Crystalfall is only available for testing on the Windows PC platform via Steam. To gain access:

  1. Go to the Steam store page and search for Crystalfall.
  2. Scroll down to the Playtest section (located under Game Preview).
  3. Click the “Request Access” button for instant participation.
  4. Download the game and wait for the test to begin at the specified date and time. It is recommended to remove and reinstall any older game versions if present.

The main objective of the “Server Slam” is twofold: to allow players across the globe to experience the newest updated game systems, including the debut of the Technomancer class, and to rigorously test the server’s stability under maximum simultaneous player environments. This is crucial for ensuring a smooth Early Access launch.

What to Expect in Crystalfall: Server Slam

This playtest version offers an experience that is the closest yet to the upcoming Early Access release, featuring many new feature upgrades from previous tests.

  • New Hero Classes: Players can choose from three hero classes: the Knight, the Gunner, and the first-ever debut of the Technomancer class.
  • Full Content Preview: The test launches an intense five-act quest storyline and opens up new explorable areas.
  • In-Depth Systems: Players can deeply customize their fighting style using a variety of Skill Trees and Talent Trees.
  • Economy: The crafting system, equipment upgrades, and in-game item trading system will also be available for testing.

Important Notice for Test Participants

As the game is still actively in development (“Work in Progress”), players should keep the following points in mind:

  • Bugs: Technical difficulties, bugs, or system instability may be encountered, which is a core reason for the test—to identify and fix issues rapidly.
  • Data Reset: Character data from all previous tests will be wiped. Crucially, any progress data made during this Server Slam phase will not be transferred to the Early Access version.
  • Testing Protocol: The development team specifically requests that participating players cooperate by logging in and playing for at least one hour, or until they reach the “first camp,” to provide the most effective server data.

Crystalfall is a Steampunk-themed Hack ‘n’ Slash Action RPG that focuses on classic ARPG gameplay, emphasizing theorycrafting—the detailed analysis and planning of character builds through skill selection. Players take on the role of a Mutated character on a relentless hunt for powerful crystal fragments and valuable treasures to unlock new powers without limits.

THIS IS our take: The name “Server Slam” perfectly encapsulates the brutal stress test this ARPG is about to undergo. This test is essential to catch any glitches before the 2026 launch. Introducing the Technomancer class for the first time is a smart move to generate major hype, especially combined with the deep theorycrafting mechanics. Get ready to hack, slash, and break the server!
