Hypergryph Confirms Cause of Missing Funds Issue in Arknights: Endfield and Completes Full Refunds

Over the past week, Arknights: Endfield players reported a serious issue involving repeated PayPal charges despite no purchase confirmations being made. The situation quickly gained attention within the gaming community as multiple users discovered unexpected deductions from their accounts.
Developer Hypergryph has since issued an official clarification, confirming that the issue was caused by a bug in the payment processing system that resulted in duplicate transaction requests.
Scope of the Issue and Affected Users
According to Hypergryph, a total of 3,429 abnormal transactions were identified, impacting more than 1,800 players worldwide. The total amount involved reached approximately USD 80,000, with the most severe individual case recording unauthorized charges of up to USD 5,289.
The company emphasized that the issue stemmed solely from system errors and was not the result of user actions or security breaches.
Full Refunds Issued Without Item Rollbacks
Hypergryph confirmed that all affected players received full refunds as soon as the issue was identified. Notably, the development team also decided not to revoke any in-game items obtained through the erroneous transactions.
As a result, impacted players were able to retain all acquired in-game content while also receiving their refunded funds in full.
PayPal Temporarily Disabled for Safety Checks
At present, PayPal payments remain temporarily disabled across both the main game launcher and the official top-up website. Although the underlying bug has already been resolved, Hypergryph stated that additional time is being taken to conduct thorough system testing to ensure similar incidents do not recur.
Strengthened Payment Security Measures
Throughout the past week, the development team has overhauled its order verification processes and implemented enhanced security measures when connecting with third-party payment providers.
Hypergryph reaffirmed that player data and financial security remain top priorities, assuring players that they can continue enjoying Arknights: Endfield with confidence while further safeguards are finalized.
Developer Response Builds Player Confidence
Arknights: Endfield continues to draw attention as one of the most anticipated action titles of 2026. Hypergryph’s swift and transparent handling of this payment issue has further reinforced trust among players, demonstrating a strong commitment to accountability and user protection.
