Japanese Streamer Yoshinama Invests 25 million yen to Create Mamon King

Japanese streamer Yoshinama has taken a bold step to follow his lifelong dream, investing over 25 million yen (approximately 159 thousand USD) of his own money to develop Mamon King, a Turn-Based monster collection game, alongside the team at LiTMUS. Unfazed by potential sales performance, he aimed to create “the game he truly wanted to make,” despite having little prior game development experience.

Mamon King: A Monster-Raising Game Born from Savings and Passion

Mamon King is a monster-raising RPG featuring tournament-style battles, inspired by the Monster Rancher series. The project began about two years ago when Yoshinama suddenly felt the urge to create a game. Despite initial surprise at the high cost and his lack of development experience, he remained committed to making a project driven purely by passion, regardless of potential failure.

Initially, LiTMUS ranked Mamon King low on their development priorities due to its niche genre and large scope. However, after seeing Yoshinama’s determination stating openly that “even if sales are bad, I want to make what I want” director Yu Totsuka decided to join the project. Unlike typical collaborative projects, this game was built from scratch with Yoshinama acting as both producer and designer, personally funding it to realize his vision as accurately as possible.

As development nears completion, Yoshinama shared that balancing game development with streaming was exhausting but immensely enjoyable at every step. Even if the game “fails spectacularly,” he is motivated to develop again in the future, having discovered true happiness in game creation through this experience.

Mamon King is more than a streamer project—it is the realization of Yoshinama’s passion and willingness to invest in his dreams, with LiTMUS helping to bring it to life. The game is set for release on December 11, 2025, for PC (Steam) and Nintendo Switch, potentially marking the beginning of Yoshinama’s journey as a full-fledged game creator.

Yoshinama’s journey shows that pursuing passion and investing in your dream can create games that truly reflect personal vision, proving that risk and creativity can go hand in hand.
