Monster Hunter Showcase Postponed After Japan Earthquake

Monster Hunter fans have been treated to months of new content for Monster Hunter Wilds, including the announcement of the third installment in the spin-off series, Monster Hunter Stories. However, the excitement around the franchise recently faced an unexpected hurdle.

Following an offshore earthquake in Japan on the evening of Monday, December 8, Capcom has officially confirmed that the December Monster Hunter Showcase has been postponed indefinitely. Additional details will be provided at a later date. This isn’t the first time natural disasters have impacted the gaming industry, as Elden Ring Nightreign also delayed its update earlier this year due to a similar event.

The year-end Monster Hunter Showcase was particularly anticipated, as it was set to reveal key information about Monster Hunter Stories 3, along with the fourth Title Update for Monster Hunter Wilds, promising free content including new monsters and quests. Fans can only wait and hope that the situation resolves with minimal damage.

About Monster Hunter Wilds
Monster Hunter Wilds is now available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. This action-packed hunting game places players as part of an expedition team exploring a vast wilderness alongside companions Alma and Palico, the trusty feline partner, as well as mysterious children. The game features Multi-dimensional Biomes, meaning environments can shift unpredictably between deserts, plains, and other landscapes, adding dynamic challenges to each hunt.

Even beloved franchises like Monster Hunter are not immune to real-world events, but fans can rest assured that Capcom will deliver the awaited content once it’s safe to proceed.
