Following an offshore earthquake in Japan on the evening of Monday, December 8, Capcom has officially confirmed that the December Monster Hunter Showcase has been postponed indefinitely. Additional details will be provided at a later date. This isn’t the first time natural disasters have impacted the gaming industry, as Elden Ring Nightreign also delayed its update earlier this year due to a similar event.

The year-end Monster Hunter Showcase was particularly anticipated, as it was set to reveal key information about Monster Hunter Stories 3, along with the fourth Title Update for Monster Hunter Wilds, promising free content including new monsters and quests.
