No More Censorship: Brown Dust 2 Cancels All Character Redesign Plans Permanently

Junhee Lee, director of Brown Dust 2, has released a new official statement addressing the recent controversy surrounding character redesigns, censorship concerns, and service policies. In the announcement, he clearly confirmed that all previously discussed redesign plans have been completely canceled, alongside the introduction of a long-term policy to handle regional regulations moving forward.

According to Lee, any characters or costumes that were mentioned in earlier discussions will remain unchanged. This includes characters such as Teresse and Refithea, as well as content like the Slap! Slap! Pop! mini-game. The decision is permanent and will apply throughout the entire lifespan of the game.

Lee also directly addressed the controversial Liberta Prestige skin, a premium paid costume that previously sparked heavy debate among players. He admitted that censoring this skin was a mistake and confirmed it will be released with its original design as initially planned. As an apology to players, the Liberta Prestige skin will be made available for free for a period of four weeks following the upcoming game update scheduled for January 15. In addition, the character Granadair, which was previously announced to receive reduced sexualization, will also be released using its original design.

A large portion of the statement focused on the ambiguity of external censorship standards and how earlier communications from the development team contributed to player anxiety and distrust regarding the game’s future direction. To address this, Brown Dust 2 will now follow a clear principle of region-separated service, rather than altering in-game content. In short, the development team will no longer modify character designs on a global level.

Lee further explained why Brown Dust 2 will permanently avoid global content changes going forward. As the game operates across multiple platforms, actions taken by rating boards or regulatory authorities in one country could potentially trigger reviews or legal consequences in other regions. Even region-specific versions cannot fully prevent service disruptions if the original content exists elsewhere.

With this announcement, Brown Dust 2 has firmly committed to preserving its original character designs while maintaining regional service compliance through non-intrusive measures. The statement marks a decisive move to restore player trust and clarify the game’s long-term creative direction.
