Epic Games Store Gifting System Now Available

After six years of anticipation, Epic Games Store has finally launched its long-awaited Gifting System, allowing players to send games to friends and family for special occasions. Since its launch in 2018, Epic Games Store has grown from a small alternative platform to a serious competitor to Steam, steadily adding features like Add to Cart and Achievements.
Using the new gifting system is simple. Players can visit the store page of a game, select the “Gift” option, and choose the recipient. There’s even an option to schedule when the game becomes accessible, making it perfect for holidays, birthdays, or other celebrations.

There are some limitations. Gifts must be claimed within 14 days of sending. If the recipient already owns the game or chooses not to accept it, the sender automatically receives a refund. Successfully sent gifts also earn Epic Rewards points, which can be redeemed for discounts on future purchases. Subscriptions and in-game premium currencies or microtransactions are excluded from gifting.
Epic Games Store has also gained recognition for its player-friendly pricing and higher revenue share for developers, attracting exclusive titles such as Ubisoft releases between 2019–2024, HITMAN III, and Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade. The new gifting feature adds another layer of convenience and engagement for players, bringing the platform closer to parity with major competitors.
