Tokyo Game Show 2026 Confirms Dates and Expanded Format
Tokyo Game Show has officially unveiled its full schedule and key details for the 2026 edition, positioning this year’s show as a milestone event for the gaming industry. The announcement was made by the Computer Entertainment Supplier’s Association, also known as CESA, alongside its event partners.
Tokyo Game Show 2026 will take place in September and will run for a total of five consecutive days, making it the longest edition in the history of the event.

Five Days of Nonstop Programming
The event will be held from September 17 to September 21, featuring a hybrid format that combines on-site exhibitions with online programming. Physical attendance will take place at Makuhari Messe, while global audiences will be able to follow livestreams and digital content throughout the event period.
The schedule is divided into two distinct phases:
- Business Days: September 17 to 18
- Public Days: September 19 to 21
This structure allows industry professionals, developers, publishers, and investors to engage in meetings and presentations before opening the floor to the general public.

Celebrating a Major Anniversary
Tokyo Game Show 2026 is designed as a celebratory edition, marking the 30th anniversary of the event. Organizers have emphasized that the extended schedule will allow for more stage programs, hands-on demos, partner showcases, and interactive online segments than ever before.
A new ticket structure is also planned, offering additional access options that cover both offline and digital experiences. This change aims to make participation more flexible for attendees with different interests and schedules.
A Strong Push Toward Global Participation
One of the key themes for Tokyo Game Show 2026 is its renewed focus on international collaboration. Under the concept of “Global TGS,” the event will provide expanded opportunities for overseas developers and hardware manufacturers to host seminars, presentations, and entertainment programs.
The official theme for this year’s show is “The Longest Five Days of Nonstop Play,” reflecting the ambition to connect players, creators, and industry leaders across generations and regions without barriers.
Organizers have also revealed the first official logo for Tokyo Game Show 2026, featuring a black and gold color scheme to reflect the celebratory tone of the anniversary year.
