One Piece: Pirate Warriors 4 DLC Set 7 Review with Characters from Egghead Future Island

Lucci, S Snake and Bonney Bring New Moves and Wild Combat Styles to Pirate Warriors 4
One Piece: Pirate Warriors 4 remains a standout action title from KOEI TECMO that delivers fast paced battles inspired by the world of ONE PIECE, allowing players to relive the journey of the Straw Hat crew while unleashing powerful combos against waves of enemies. The new Character Pack 7: Egghead Future Island brings three fresh characters into the roster including Rob Lucci from CP0, S Snake the human weapon created by Dr. Vegapunk, and Bonney the captain of the Bonney Pirates and one of the Worst Generation. Each fighter introduces a completely different playstyle, giving players new ways to clear stages and enjoy the chaos of the battlefield across the SEA region where fans continue to follow this beloved series. After spending significant time with all three characters on PS5, the experience becomes even more enjoyable as their combat styles grow more expressive the deeper you push into their skills.
The review was conducted entirely on PS5 and certain elements described here may change if future updates adjust gameplay or character balance at a later time. Nevertheless, the core experience of the DLC remains consistent and offers a solid upgrade to the existing roster.
S Snake Feels Like an Action Anime Character Come to Life

Among the three new arrivals, S Snake is the one that immediately leaves a strong impression. She brings the feeling of controlling a modern era action anime hero, complete with beam attacks and destructive finishing moves that fill the screen with flare. Her skills function like a compact arsenal capable of clearing enemies in multiple directions. You can fire a straight line beam that slices through opponents or launch energy upward before showering it down like a missile barrage across enemy groups. On top of these powerful moves, S Snake can turn enemies into stone while also having a counter skill for single hit reversals.

This combination gives her a balanced yet highly aggressive toolkit that feels great for players who enjoy timing combos and rotating skills for maximum coverage. The only slight drawback is her alternate outfit which barely differs from the main design except for removing her shoes. It feels like a missed opportunity because her moveset is so expressive that a more dramatic outfit change could have highlighted her flair even more. Even so, the fun of playing S Snake remains intact and the satisfaction of firing her full combo chains continues to elevate every encounter.

Lucci Starts Challenging but Evolves Into a Close Range Destruction Machine

Lucci may surprise some players at first because his movement and attacks can feel a little unusual before he transforms. In his base mode he cannot chain combos with the triangle button and must rely on rapid square attacks. This makes his early fighting rhythm feel unfamiliar, but the upside is that his normal attacks cover a good distance and allow him to clear small groups of enemies quickly from afar. His crowd control is efficient enough that he becomes a reliable mob clearer even before transformation. Everything changes the moment Lucci enters his transformed state.

He becomes a lightning-fast close combat fighter with enhanced skills that hit harder and flow more aggressively. The forward dash movement during this mode allows you to surge through groups of enemies with constant momentum as long as the energy gauge holds. This makes him ideal for storming enemy zones, eliminating bosses, and zipping across large maps with ease. It is hard not to smile when his transformed attacks start chaining across the battlefield with smooth precision. His alternate outfit also stands out because Lucci appears in Battle Mode without his shirt, showcasing a tougher, grittier look that fans of the series will appreciate. It is a fun bonus that adds personality to an already powerful character.

Bonney Brings Chaos, Range and Transformation for Maximum Impact

Finishing the trio is Bonney, a chaotic powerhouse who delivers high energy combat every time she enters the field. Her moveset blends sweeping combos and transformation based skills that allow for big area control and explosive damage. Whether she transforms into a giant like form and slams enemies into the ground or stretches her arms in a way reminiscent of Luffy, her attacks always land with force across wide zones. These capabilities make her particularly effective when surrounded by enemy crowds.

She pushes forward with heavy impact strikes that leave little room for opponents to recover. What sets Bonney apart even further is her alternate costume which delivers a full transformation from her original look. The Supernova costume introduces a noticeably different design that refreshes her appearance and feels like a meaningful addition rather than a minor tweak. It is a stylish change that players will enjoy especially if they prefer to customize their favorite characters for fresh playthroughs.

Final Thoughts on the DLC

Character Pack 7 succeeds because each fighter offers a unique flavor that adds variety and excitement to the Pirate Warriors 4 roster. S Snake unleashes full anime inspired beam attacks and tactical counters, Lucci transforms from a tricky starter into a high speed close combat powerhouse, and Bonney provides chaos driven skills paired with sweeping damage and a standout Supernova costume. Together they deliver a balanced selection of characters that deepen the gameplay while adding new ways to enjoy both casual and intense combat across the SEA region. The combination of dynamic movesets, flashy skills, and strong character identity makes this DLC a worthwhile addition whether you prefer stylish combos, aggressive melee attacks, or destructive transformations.

THIS IS OUR SAY
This DLC shines because it captures the heart of what makes Pirate Warriors so fun, delivering characters who feel bold, animated and alive while reminding players that good design does not need to follow one formula to stand out.
