How to Unlock Flaming Meteor in Where Winds Meet – Complete Guide

One of the most exciting features in Where Winds Meet is the Mystic Skills system, granting characters incredible powers. Among these, Flaming Meteor is a high-damage, visually stunning AoE skill that many players aim to acquire early in the game.

Unlocking this skill can be tricky for new players because it requires specific conditions, precise timing, and persistence in combat. However, with a clear step-by-step guide, obtaining Flaming Meteor becomes much easier. Here’s everything you need to know to master this powerful skill.

Requirements for Flaming Meteor

Before learning Flaming Meteor, players must meet one essential requirement: Vitality of at least 60. Even if the skill is unlocked, it cannot be equipped or used until this Vitality threshold is reached.

The skill unlocks only after successfully deflecting a special attack from the boss Ye Wanshan ten times. Battles eligible for learning the skill occur after completing the Bodhi Sea questline.

The Bodhi Sea quest becomes available once Chapter One: Heaven Has No Pier is completed. Players should travel to Sundara Land in the Qinghe region, marked on the map as a dark, eerie swamp.

Completing the Bodhi Sea Quest

  1. Follow the Drum Sounds – In the swamp, look for the rhythmic drum sounds indicated by white icons on your screen. Players must locate and hit all three drums.
  2. Return to Zhang Yinmang – After the drums, go back to the NPC Zhang Yinmang.
  3. First Battle with Ye Wanshan – The initial fight unlocks the Encounter in Bodhi Sea but cannot be used to learn Flaming Meteor yet.
  4. After defeating Ye Wanshan and completing Bodhi Sea, the quest for learning Flaming Meteor officially begins.

Entering Ye Wanshan’s Mystic Realm

Once Bodhi Sea is cleared, open the map again. A red umbrella icon or Heroic Tomb marker will appear over the swamp. Teleport to this location to enter Ye Wanshan’s mystical world—the true stage to learn Flaming Meteor.

Interact with the drums in this area, which triggers entry into Ye Wanshan’s illusionary realm, where the skill can be acquired.

Learning Flaming Meteor from Ye Wanshan

During the battle, notice the eye icon to the right of Ye Wanshan’s health bar. This tracks progress for learning the Mystic Skill Flaming Meteor.

Ye Wanshan uses a key attack for skill learning: he jumps onto his horse, raises his spear, and strikes downward with a powerful, targeted attack. A red warning flash signals the incoming strike.

Each successful Deflect increases the Flaming Meteor progress by 1/10. Progress is cumulative, so players do not need to deflect all ten attacks in one battle. If Ye Wanshan is defeated prematurely, e.g., only 5 deflects completed, the next attempt continues from 5/10 instead of resetting.

Once all 10 deflects are completed, the Mystic Skill bar fills, and Flaming Meteor is unlocked. Players can equip the skill immediately (provided Vitality ≥ 60) and unleash devastating AoE damage in battle.

Where Winds Meet immerses players in the turbulent late Tang Dynasty of ancient China, full of conflict and tragedy. Players step into the role of elite warriors navigating a chaotic era, making choices that shape the fate of the dynasty. The game will launch on PC, iOS, Android, and PS5, with the PS5 version enjoying a six-month exclusive window.
